Kathleen Kennedy May Leave Lucasfilm President by Year’s End. Possible Replacements Named
Kathleen Kennedy, Lucasfilm President, may step down by the end of 2025, The Hollywood Reporter reports.
Kennedy has been at the helm of the company since 2012, when Star Wars creator George Lucas tapped her to lead the company before selling his stake to Disney. The franchise has won numerous awards and won the hearts of millions of fans around the world.
However, insiders say it will be difficult to find a suitable replacement for Kennedy. There are several candidates who could succeed her, including Jon Favreau, known for his work on the Marvel Cinematic Universe. However, Favreau does not see himself as a leader, as Kennedy’s work is more about management than the creative process.
Another possible replacement is Dave Filoni, the Lucasfilm mentor who has become beloved by Star Wars fans. According to some reports, Disney has already selected Filoni as Kennedy’s successor, and his appointment could be officially announced as early as April during the Star Wars celebration.
Earlier, it was reported that the hacking group NullBulge hacked the personal correspondence of Disney employees.
